If you've heard of the free software movement, you've probably heard of Richard Stallman. In fact, if you were paying attention in the last couple weeks, you saw that Stallman was giving a talk last week.

The talk was described in advance as a talk about "Copyright and Community" in the modern world, although most of the talk was spent introducing the concept of "free" software and attacking Digital Rights Management technologies. Stallman's controversial revision of copyright was saved for the very end.

Attendance to the talk was, not surprisingly, high among members of the Computer Science and Electrical & Computer Engineering departments. If you want more information about Stallman's work in the area of free software, you can check the website of the Free Software Foundation, www.fsf.org.
