Yesterday, the Union College Theme Houses hosted a fair to advertise and recruit students. From 4-7 p.m. in Old Chapel, the fair attracted students from all years. In case you missed it though, here are my top five reasons to live in a theme house.

1. Community in the house...

When you live with a group of students, people are bound to make friends. The shared living space creates comraderie among the residents of the house.

2. ...and outside of the house.

Also, living in a theme house allows students to broaden their social spheres, including the houses' alumni network!

3. Forum for discussion.

The houses generally have house dinners and meetings where members can discuss current events and issues at hand.

4. Ability to host events.

Being a member of a theme house comes with many perks, like the ability to host events. The Theme House Council has a budget, and it votes on ways in which to allocate the money for great charity and social events.

5. Fun!

Theme houses are a fun place to live and learn with friends! Dances, coffee houses, or social gatherings are offered among the theme houses on a weekly basis.
