Sara Callahan won both the 1000 and 500 freestyle events to help the women's team.

The Union Women's and Men's Swimming and Diving Teams traveled to Clinton, New York Saturday for a dual meet against Hamilton.

The Women's Team dominated Hamilton with a final score of 156-85. The Men's team lost the meet to Hamilton with a score of 86-140.

The women began the meet by winning the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 4:09.09. The members of the relay were sophomore Amy Nestlerode, seniors Brianne Phillips and Sydnie Wells, and freshman Mary Kate Baumann.

In one of the few dual meets where the 66-lap, 1,650 yard Freestyle is swum, Union won both the men's and women's events. For the women, Sophomore Sara Callahan won with a time of 18:12.37 and Freshman Steve Schapp won for the men in 16:52.43.

The women were able to take first, second and third place in the 200 yard Individual Medley against Hamilton. Baumann was first with a 2:15.94, Wells was second in 2:16.33 and Phillips was third with a 2:22.40.

Sophomore Kevin Kewin also won the event for the men's side in a time of 2:01.22.

Junior Molly Freeman won the 1-meter diving competition with a 232.20. Junior Steve Cohen and Sophomore Frank Spendley took first and second, respective, in the 1-meter diving competition for the men.

The Women's 200 yard Butterfly was won by Wells with a time of 2:10.74. Junior Ashley Braniecki took second in the event, finishing with a time of 2:16.15.

Senior Mary Larkin took first place in the Women's 100 yard Freestyle. Larkin finished with a time of 56:41.

The 200 yard Backstroke was another event that the Union Women took first and second place in. Nestlerode won the event in 2:13.92 while Braniecki took second with a 2:20.53.

Callahan also won the 500 yard Freestyle with a 5:27.64 followed closely by teammate Baumann who finished in a 5:30.05.

The Union Women divers shined in the 3-meter diving competition. Freeman won the event with a score of 261.98, Freshman Meredith Nearpass came in second and scored 215.90 points while Sophomore Libby Fortier came in third scoring 215.60.

Cohen and Spendley once again took first and second place in the 3-meter diving.

The 200 yard Breaststroke was won by Phillips with a time of 2:31.86.

Union was able to win both of their last relays, the 200 yard Freestyle relays. The Women's team, made up of Larkin, Nestlerode, Freshman Maria Prendergast and Junior Christa White finished first with a time of 1:43.49. The Men's team also won the event. Their relay was made up of Kewin, freshman Todd Herman, sophomore Jack Honor, and Schapp. Their time was 1:31.08.

The Women's team's record is now 5-2 while the Men's Team record is 0-7.

Both teams compete next at home against Williams on Wednesday night at 7:00.
